Executive Bios
Gerald J. Lukiewski, President, Chief Executive Officer and Director
Mr. Lukiewski was previously the President & Chief Executive Officer of American
Commercial Bank (ACB) and its holding company, Americorp. He began his banking career in
1979 with United California Bank (which later became First Interstate Bank) in Ventura,
California. During his 11 years with First Interstate, he held a variety of managerial
positions including, branch manager of the Oxnard Branch and District Manager for the
Ventura County, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties. He joined the dominant
community bank in Ventura County, Bank of A. Levy, in 1990 as a senior officer responsible
for all loan and deposit operations in the Eastern Ventura County Region. Bank of A. Levy
was acquired in 1995, and Mr. Lukiewski joined Santa Barbara Bank & Trust to manage a loan
centralization department. An opportunity to return to branch banking brought him to
American Commercial Bank in 1996 as Regional Manager. He was later promoted to Chief
Credit Officer and in March 1998, was appointed president and chief executive officer. Mr.
Lukiewski left ACB when Mid State Bank & Trust acquired ACB in a merger that closed on
September 28, 2001. Mr. Lukiewski received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business from
California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, and he received the Certificate of
Achievement from the National Association of Credit Manager's, Graduate School of Credit
and Financial Management. Mr. Lukiewski is involved in numerous community groups including
the Camarillo Breakfast Rotary Club, the Oxnard Ambassadors, the Ventura County Taxpayers
Association and the Santa Barbara Channel Foundation.
Charles A. Myers, Executive VP and Chief Credit Officer
Mr. Myers held various front-line positions with Security Pacific National Bank in Los
Angeles, California, and began specializing in credit administration where he held
progressive positions with Security Pacific, Manufacturers Bank and Olympic National Bank.
Mr. Myers worked with the bank's Chief Executive Officer, Gerald J. Lukiewski, when he
joined the Bank of A. Levy in 1993. He was responsible for commercial credit
administration and credit approval for the east county region of Ventura County. After
Bank of A. Levy's merger with First Interstate Bank, Mr. Myers joined East West Bank in
San Marino as a Credit Administration Manager. In 1999, he rejoined Mr. Lukiewski at
American Commercial Bank where he was the Chief Credit Officer until the bank merged with
Mid-State Bank & Trust in September 2001. Mr. Myers received a Bachelor of Science Degree
in Business Management/Economics from San Jose State University and a MBA in
Finance/Accounting from the University of Southern California. He has held part-time
teaching positions at Pasadena City College and California State University, Los Angeles.
He is a member of the board of the Robert Morris and Associates, a banking trade
association where he is also the Programs Chairman. Mr. Myers has participated in numerous
community organizations, serving as President of the Mid-City Chamber of Commerce, in Los
Angeles, youth basketball and hockey coach, Treasurer and Finance Committee Chairman of
Church of Our Savior, Director of Christian Services for the Blind, and he is currently
President of the Barton Flats Cabin Owners Association.
Keith Sciarillo, Executive VP and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Sciarillo began his career in public accounting in 1986, working first for Grant
Thornton and then Deloitte and Touche. He started working in banking in 1991 with American
Commercial Bank ("ACB"). He started as the bank's internal auditor and ended his time with
ACB in 2001 as the bank's Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer when Mid-State
Bank & Trust acquired ACB in a merger. In 2002, Mr. Sciarillo worked as the Controller for
Aegis Medical Systems. During 2003, he returned to banking as the Executive Vice President
and Chief Financial Officer for California Oaks State Bank. In December 2003, Mr.
Sciarillo became the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Ventura
County Business Bank.
Janice Armijo, Executive VP and Chief Operating Officer
Ms. Armijo was appointed the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Bank on December 20, 2006. Ms. Armijo began her banking career in 1977 with Security Pacific National Bank (which later became Bank of America) in Ventura County, California. During her 11 years with Security Pacific National Bank, she held a variety of managerial positions in Operations and Lending. Ms. Armijo worked with the Chief Executive Officer, Gerald J. Lukiewski, when she joined First Interstate Bank of California in 1984 where she held the position of District Sales and Service Manger for Ventura County, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties. In 1998, she rejoined Mr. Lukiewski at American Commercial Bank where she was Vice President and Manager until the bank merged with Mid-State Bank and Trust in September of 2001. Ms. Armijo continued employment with Mid-State Bank and Trust until May 2003. She joined Ventura County Business Bank in May 2003 and became the Bank’s Chief Operating Officer in July 2004, and then took on the additional title and responsiblities of Compliance Manager in 2005.
